This week, 4 years after Tate Britain closed its restaurant as a result of Rex Whistler’s murals on its partitions contained racist imagery, it has unveiled the work it commissioned in response to Whistler’s portray by the artist Keith Piper. We speak to Piper concerning the work.

And this episode’s Work of the Week is With Verticals, one in all Anni Albers’s pictorial weavings, made in 1946. It’s a key piece within the exhibition Woven Histories: Textiles and Trendy Abstraction, which arrived this week on the Nationwide Gallery of Artwork in Washington. We focus on the weaving with the present’s curator, Lynne Cooke.
